Irish Landscape Institute Awards 2020

We are proud to have supported our clients in delivering six amazing and diverse projects which received awards from the Irish Landscape Institute in 2020
6 Hanover Quay, Dublin 2

SAP Landscapes were honoured to collaborate with ÁIT Urbanism + Landscape on behalf of their client Cairn Homes to deliver a design and build project at 6 Hanover Quay, Dublin 2.
The external spaces of the complex revolve around a central courtyard at ground floor level and two roof terraces on the 7th and 8th-floor levels which are subdivided for both communal and private amenity purposes.
Marshalsea Courtyards
The Marshalsea Courtyards was another exciting collaboration with ÁIT Urbanism + Landscape. This project comprised of an entrance courtyard and interior courtyards with the purpose of harnessing greenery into an urban and office environment.
The lush entrance courtyard was designed in contrast to the hustle and bustle of Merchants Quay. Upon entering the complex, you are instantly exported from the harsh elements of the urban environment into a welcoming oasis of warm tones and greenery features. The theme is continued with the interior courtyards and provide comfortable green spaces for the wider office environment to enjoy.

Landsdowne Place

We were privileged to work alongside Bernard Seymour Landscape Architects on the exciting Landsdowne Place project. Formerly the Berkeley Hotel, the site was redeveloped to serve as a high-end residential complex.
The plan was carefully designed around the mature Holm Oak trees to continue the historical legacy of the site's use as the Trinity College Botanical Gardens from 1806 until the 1960s. Some of the features of this project included semi-mature tree planting, concrete planting pockets, floor planes covered in beautiful edge-to-edge stonework and a sculpture to honour the site's botanical past.
Dublin City University Public Realm
We were thrilled as always to collaborate with Brady Shipman Martin on the revitalisation of the DCU Glasnevin Campus.
The design incorporated animated spaces including peaceful areas to relax, areas to assemble and a raised grass area for outdoor events. Fresh bespoke paving was introduced along with vibrant street furniture to provide a lively and fun environment. The old linear pathways were replaced with a more dynamic arrangement of paved and landscaped areas offering greater connectivity between buildings and spaces.

St Luke's Graveyard

Working alongside the excellent Bernard Seymour Landscape Architects once again, our landscape team were delighted to be involved with the wonderful project at St Luke's Graveyard.
The graveyard and grounds were transformed from a dilapidated fenced-off site within the urban environment into a multi-use natural space, including a layered pocket park and a biodiversity garden for all to enjoy.
Beckett Park, Cherrywood
We were very proud to be involved in the fantastic Beckett Park project appointed to Murray & Associates by their client Hines Ireland Group. The Cherrywood development is effectively a new town located in South Dublin and Beckett Park is one of the three main parks within the area.
The park provides a recreational space for the residents of Cherrywood, encompassing a large all-weather pitch, six tennis courts, boules courts, Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), outdoor gym and play area, and spaces for sitting, walking and relaxing.
